Arizona Quick Hits November 3, 2009

Arizona heads into this weekend with a 5-2 record and will take on Washington State for the 93rd homecoming in U of A history.  Read all about it here.

Arizona is currently averaging 30 ppg.  Arizona has 12 rushing touchdowns and 12 passing touchdowns on the year. Unsurprisingly, the Cats are giving up 24 points per game on 101 yards rushing per game (good enough for 16th in the nation) and 213 passing yards per game (54th in the nation).

Star-divide

It's not all football in Tucson right now.  The "new blood" seems to be pushing the envelope in practice and the numbers are impressive and promising.

The bye week and matchup with lowly Washington State is just what the Cats need.  It looks like we will still be without Nic Grigsby and Greg Nwoko.

Speaking of Arizona's rushing game, Keoli Antolin should have a big game against Washington State's defense which ranks 114 out of 120 on rush defense giving up 220 yards per game on the ground.

Cam Nelson was named the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week after his performance against UCLA.  Cam had 6 solo tackles, 2 sacks and forced a pair of 2 fumbles.
