The Cats got lucky tonight!!!!!!!!

Arizona defeated Arizona State on Saturday 20-17. How lucky were we? ASU mucks a punt with 1:00 left in the game on their own 20 yard line. Alex Zendejas knocked through the game winner with no time left and that was all she wrote. Arizona led 14-0 at the half, holding ASU to only 9 yards on the ground in the first half. The defense looked impressive. The entire D-Line was awesome and created havoc for the Sun Devils all day. Ricky Elmore again was unstoppable and Brooks Reed was great as well. ASU shot themselves in the foot at every opportunity they had. Penalties, a blocked punt and one defensive miscue that allowed Antolin to sprint for a 67 yard touchdown. They fought back and the TD pass to Kyle Williams on 4-13 was ridiculously awesome. Foles was definitely off of his game only having 148 yards passing on 24/43 passing and no touchdowns.

Arizona looked sluggish in the 2nd half and allowed ASU to creep back in. We are still having trouble finishing off opponents when we are in control. Stoops better get that fixed before we head to USC. Let's enjoy this one now. The Cats just beat ASU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Relief...

…I feel more relieved than happy about this win. But I’d rather feel like this than the sadness of losing to ASU. Stoops won a game decided by 3 points or less for only the 3rd time. Overall he is 3-11 in those games. He’s now 9-17 in games decided by 7 points or less. We still don’t put teams away…

strangely enough

it’s nice having the win, but I do feel bad for Williams who put forth a great effort today on behalf of the Devils. The thing is, I believe that the Cats were certainly due, when you see how close they were in the loss to Cal, the Huskies and Oregon, it’s about time that the karma gods smiled upon them.

I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused....
