Livengood should be fired!

I'm a U of A alum, 1998. I experienced the national championship as a junior and I can't believe what has happened to our basketball program. I don't know how Livengood still has a job. Unfortunately I'm not a big booster, otherwise I would have done everything in my power to force him out. He has totally botched the basketball hire, no thanks to Lute Olson who stayed too long and hurt his legacy (JoePa and Bowdon, are you listening?). How could he not have secured Calipari by now? He could have had him instead he let Kentucky swoosh in and get him. This quiet search has not worked in our favor (meanwhile, we have no recruits). I like Pitino, but he's always looking for a better gig and he's older. Are we going to have another 75 year old coach collecting a paycheck in beautiful Tucson? I can't believe we wouldn't go after a younger guy like Jay Wright or Jamie Dixon? Livengood is a terrible leader and needs to be removed. He's done nothing to elevate U of A into the upper echelon of college sports.

Now, as a huge college football fan, if I were Mike Stoops I'd be salivating at having the opportunity to make Football the #1 spot at U of A. SO SHOULD LIVENGOOD! Which sport brings in more money into a school? Football! What sport, if you are good enough enough gets on national television more? Football! Now if only the PAC-10 and the new commish get out of this awful Fox Sports contract that gets no East coast coverage, maybe, just maybe U of A will have the national exposure we all want.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Livengood should be publicly beaten in front of Old Main and then thrown in the fountain. I bet the Pikes would do it.

Livenbad

I dislike Livengood just as much as the next guy, but we got to at least see who he brings to the table. GOAZCATS.COM is reporting Livengood had a back up plan and as soon as Calipari was off the board contact was made with this plan. Its said the contract is being worked out and an announcement could come as early as today. The following are off the table, Rick Pitino – Louisville, Jamie Dixon – Pittsburgh, Tom Izzo – Michigan State , Tim Floyd – USC, Sean Miller – Xavier, Bill Grier – San Diego, so its anyones guess and at first glance, I dont see us winning any press conferences, and with the lack of the press even talking about the Arizona job, will there even be a press conference. Ha ha! If I were Livengood, I would have shown up with the jet and beat any deal Calipari was offered. Calipari/Pastner and most likely 1-3 recruits is worth $35 million with guaranteed success and top notch recruiting for the next 8 years all again guaranteed. We will just have to wait and see, good or bad, Livenbad will not have his contract renewed.
