Quick Hits August 12, 2009
Quick hits for Wednesday morning. 24 days...
The Wildcats held a full 11-on-11 scrimmage for 30 minutes at the end of practice Tuesday. Matt Scott led the first-team offense, with Nick Foles taking snaps with the second-team. Scott drove the first-teamers 75 yards down the field for a score, connecting on two of six pass attempts. There is no practice Wednesday. The team will head to Fort Huachuca Thursday. Rob Gronkowski was limited (again!) in practice due to injury. The last thing we need...
More quick hits after the jump!
Arizona quarterback Matt Scott and ASU running back Ryan "Don't Call Him Lance" Bass have known each other since they were 13. The two grew up playing Pop Warner against one another, and then teamed up in the backfield at Centennial High School in Corona, CA. Bass rescinded on his verbal commitment to Arizona to attend ASU. You can imagine my thoughts on that.
Vaughn Dotsy likes to fish. The sophomore guard is poised to start this season at right guard. And if you can believe it Dotsy is coming in at a "sleek" 330 pounds -- 46 pounds lighter than last season!
Glad yet that we didn't hire Rick Pitino? Yeah, me too.

Hopefully
it’s just the early bumps and strains of camp. Not much information is coming out regarding the type of injury, and the duration Gronk may be out. But, it was reported by Ryan Finley of the Star to be a leg injury.
No sense to be seriously alarmed at this point, but me, as well as all Arizona fans would love to see Gronk back in practice fully participating.
Hopefully they are just being extra cautious about a minor injury.
Isn't that typical Stoops though?
It seems like he keeps a pretty tight lid on player news/injuries/status, etc.
Super super duper
glad we dont have pitino. Rumor he didnt take the Zona job because he knew this would happen sooner or later.
Pedro Cerrano: Jesus, I like him very much, but he no help with curveball.
Eddie Harris: You trying to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?
