Degenerate Gambling Line

Sports-betting_medium

The line for this weekend's game is Arizona -13.5.  My initial thought? I don't know. Central Michigan was 8-5 last year and return some great players. Thoughts?

That seems awfully high for a first game, especially with so many questions for the Wildcats. Seems like a game to stay far, far away from.

Though, I think UA will win in the end, and represent for the Pac-10.

13.5 is huge

If I was a betting man (and some may accuse me of such), I wouldn’t touch Arizona in this game.

Season opener’s are scary. CMU runs a spread-option (which has killed Arizona before), and who knows what the quarterback shuffle will do to the offense.

Also, rain in the forecast Saturday in Tucson.

I know for a fact that Smooty is a betting man.

This post does remind me to put money in my Bodog account for the season!

Health of CMU

When you consider how bunged up CMU was during the start and again at the end of last years season I am surprised that they had a winning record. They played the entire Motor City Bowl with just one starter on defense and 3 on offense. Their performance showed it losing 24 21. We have to stay focused and not be looking by these guys as Purdue and Indiana did last year. Go Cats!

Thoughts on point spread

Take the points and bet the farm on CMU. They only missed the spread 3 times in 4 seasons, and two of them happened last year with a heavily banged up squad. In short, root for our Cats but bet Central to beat the point spread. GO CATS!
