Friday, sources were reporting that Carroll would become Head Coach and President (or Director of Football Operations). However, the updated story only lists Head Coach. The Seahawks are scheduled to interview Minnesota Defensive Coordinator Leslie Frazier for the job today (Saturday). So it is unlikely that any deal with Carroll is officially done and could still fall apart.
Some are speculating that Carroll is ready to make the move back to the NFL. He bristles at the notion that his NFL career (above .500 with two playoff appearances) is labeled as a failure, and wants to re-do his NFL legacy. He may also be frustrated with the criticism following a 9-win season starting a true freshman QB. And perhaps he is one step ahead of the NCAA investigators on his way out of Los Angeles.
