Arizona Heads to Fort Worth Regionals

The Arizona Wildcats (33-22) made it into the Fort Worth Regional and will play Baylor at 2:00 CDT on Friday, June 4, 2010.  Arizona is the #3 seed in the regional behind #1 TCU and #2 Baylor.  Arizona is one of eight Pac-10 teams to earn a postseason berth which is a record for the league in a single season.  Arizona State earned the overall #1 seed and will be a regional host as well.

Star-divide

Arizona should have an advantage in the post-season tournament based on the number of quality teams in the Pac-10 and the way the Cats have competed all season.  Arizona has made it to the post-season tournament six out of the last eight years.

The Cats are led by RBI leader Steve Selsky who has batted in 51 runs this season and is hitting .383.   Selsky is also tied on the team for HR's at 8 with Joey Rickard. Jett Bandy hit in 42 on the year while Robert Refsnyder had 40 RBI's on the season.

The Cats pitching staff was spearheaded by Kurt Heyer who finished the season with an astounding 3.28 ERA.  Heyer was 6-4 on the season. Not far behind was Augey Bill who completed the season with a 3.77 ERA in 16 games.
