Could Vince Young Retroactively Receive The Heisman?
This is crazy. They are completely disassociating themselves from Reggie and O.J. Mayo.

The Downtown Athletic Club has already said they won’t revoke Reggie’s Heisman. USC is just going to mail their copy of the Heisman back to the DAC.
Overall though, I think it is a good call by USC and the new regime.

Sort of
The DAC said it’s going to consider it with no timetable in sight. But I don’t anticipate them really doing anything with it. Not sure they want to open that can of worms, especially when you have the whole Charles Woodson in the rear-view mirror as well.

No re-writing history.
-Look, you can’t go back in time and give someone the Heisman.
-If you say that Bush never should have been elegible, then you have to say that all the attention he recieved all year long would have meant nothing, so someone else could have stood out more in comparison to Vince Young.
-Would Young have won the Heisman if Bush was ineligible? Almost certainly. But we’ll never know.
-Either vacate it and say there was no winner that year, or let Bush keep it.
-No matter how you slice it, Bush was determined by the voters to have performed better on the field than Young. The alleged wrongdoings don’t change that fact.
