Just some perspective on how good things are..
Found this article on the Mackovic era. I think it shows how good we have it with Coach Stoops, and how far the Wildcats fell under Mackovic. This is an article written by a Thome Recruit that was forced to suffer through the Mackovic era. "Mackovic made me stop loving football" And remember, at the time of his hiring, he was considered to be a top level coach. Not that I'm a Mackovic apologist. I hate the scumbag. Just saying.

Wow that was a good read. I remember the horrible Mac era, it was a sad time in AZ. I’m glad the UA had patience with Stoops. He seems like a stand up guy who cares for his players not just winning. He had a tough task rebuilding the program Mac completely destroyed. I hope Stoops stays for many years to come. I know this is doubtful as other programs might look more tempting after he builds his resume at AZ. Hope whoever is next is not another Mac.
Well, I disagree about Stoops jumping ship. I feel that as long as the Wildcats continue to improve a little each season, he’ll stay put. If the team plateaus, or regresses, then maybe I can see him jumping. But only to a powerhouse. Think Florida, Texas, Oklahoma.
After all that he has said over the years, and the fact that he has chosen to build Arizona the right way as opposed to the faster and less moral way, I don’t see him leaving any time soon.
Keep in mind that if (when) he brings a Rose Bowl trophy home to Tucson, there will more than likely be a campaign to immortalize him with a statue.
I just can’t see the University allowing him to go anywhere as long as he continues to perform as he has been.
You make some good points. If and when he brings a Rose Bowl trophy they better at least match what they are paying Sean Miller. If not I think he’ll bail soon after.
