Oral Roberts vs Arizona: Player Grades

Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

A recap of the individual performances from the Arizona players, and grades.

Some of us were worried the wildcats would have a hangover after that extremely emotional Florida win. Luckily we were all wrong to worry. Miller has these guys playing hard game in and game out. As a team we put together some impressive stats yesterday including 20 assists on 34 made fg's. Also 12 steals in one game is always impressive. The one area as a team I would love to see us get better at is taking care of the ball. We had 17 Turnovers yesterday which is just way too many. Now lets jump down to the individual performances.

Solomon Hill: A- Overall a very impressive stat line for Hill last night. 12 points 2 blocks 6 steals 5 assists 6 rebounds. That is called filling the box score. But seriously 6 steals, just a great defensive game. The only reason he got the - is from the 3 turnovers.

Brandon Ashley: B+ After a horrible game against Florida, Ashley showed he learned a few things from those big men. In this game he went 5-6 from the field and 4-6 from the line for a total of 14 points and 6 rebounds. I really like how quickly he goes up after an offensive rebound.

Kaleb Tarczewski: C+ Tarc had some good moves out there and shoot an impressive 4-4. However, he really needs to learn to read the game quicker so he stops picking up silly fouls. He only managed to be in the game for 16 minutes and still fouled out.

Mark Lyons: A- I think its fair to say that we are all happy we got Lyons in the off season. He started showing signs of an all around game today, and that includes lob dunks. Lyons shot well from the field going 6-10 and that included 3-5 from behind the arc for 17 points, but he added in 7 assists, which is a big improvement for him. He gets a slight knock like the rest of the team for the 3 turnovers.

Nick Johnson: A- I would have never thought Nick would be as good in his sophomore year as he has been already. He is really the do it all guy, and his defense is amazing. He really did a good job especially in the first half on their best scorer. Along with that filled up the stat line with 12 points 4 steals 3 assists and 3 rebounds.

Kevin Parrom: B Kevin really comes in and gives this team what we need. He is a hard nosed rebounded and netted 6 rebounds last night, and he will do what it takes on offense to help us be successful. He is a true glue guy.

Jordin Mayes: B- Jordin is always hard to grade because he rarely puts up many stats at all. However, as long as he comes into the game and doesn't make mistakes then I am happy with his play. Just run the offense without turning it over and I'm happy. Which today he did have no turnovers.

Angelo Chol: C- Chol got in the game and was aggressive which is a good thing. He got 6 rebounds in 13 minutes, but he really needs to get a softer touch around the hoop. He should have gone much better than 1-5 from the field.

Grant Jerrett: A In 21 minutes Grant went 6-8 from the field and 3-3 from behind the arc. He finished with 15 points and 4 rebounds. This is the sort of play we need from him to balance our other big low post players. That pick n pop with him and Lyons up top could be deadly.
