Chase Budinger dunks on Yao Ming to gear up for NBA dunk contest

Stay connected for news and updates

I don't know what this is. It appears to be a little preview ad for the Houston Rockets players that are participating in All-Star weekend, though who made it is anyone's guess.

What I can tell you is that Chandler Parsons is giving a boring interview while this camera focuses on former Arizona Wildcats forward Chase Budinger, who is setting up a life-size Yao Ming cardboard prop near the hoop and proceeding to dunk over it.

The good news is that Budinger, who's probably the least-heralded of an already-iffy class of dunkers in this year's Sprite Slam Dunk contest, could be gearing up for something deserving of fireworks, champagne and festive cake -- at least this video is building up the hype for that to happen.

And speaking of festive cake, my favorite dunk of all-time was Gerald Green's cupcake dunk. After all, the dunk contest is half athleticism and half creativity. Maybe Chase will have something special planned this coming weekend.
