UPDATE: Apparently, these aren't a go. Arizona AD Greg Byrne tweeted that there were mock-ups in the locker room, but it hasn't been implemented as of yet.

A few weeks after the Arizona Wildcats announced that they'd be adding a copper helmet as a seldom-used alternate to their football uniforms, it appears the team might also have a red helmet available.

We didn't see this one coming, but it got out thanks to a Ka'Deem Carey tweet.

From the photo, it's hard to tell if there will be any blue and white striping down the middle of these, but one noticeable feature is the all-red facemask.

We've already talked much about how important these uni options have become in both recruiting and marketing. Now the big question is which number of combos the Wildcats will go with. With three colors of pants, jerseys and helmets to choose from, not including the copper tops, there could be a lot of cool combos missed during the season.

By the way, does anyone know if it's OK to pull out a three-color-combo?
