What Heisman Trophy winner would you put on the Wildcats?

Stay connected for news and updates

So EA Sports' NCAA Football 13 was released yesterday, and the theme surrounding the latest version is all about the Heisman Trophy.

The game has a number of past Heisman winner's ready to go, and as such, Robert Griffin III and Barry Sanders grace the cover. By ready to go, I mean that you can stick a Heisman winner on any team, including the Arizona Wildcats.

Tempting, isn't it? Given the chance to inject Rich Rodriguez's squad with a little firepower, which former Heisman Trophy winner would you throw onto the Wildcats' roster?

You'd think Griffin III would fit perfectly with the Wildcats' run-option offense, and we mean this as no slight to Mr. Matt Scott, who is probably Arizona's best player this coming season.

Ka'Deem Carey is also on deck to have a breakout year, so we're avoiding the running backs as well; we'd rather spread our talent across the board. And considering defensive players are out of the question in the Heisman vote, there aren't any options to go with on that side of the ball.

So I'm going with former Michigan Wolverine Desmond Howard, who was one of the most dominating winners of the Heisman Trophy after being one of the most dangerous receivers and return men in the nation. And because the Wildcats could be lacking in those departments this year, the chance of a fluke touchdown thanks to an absolute playmaker -- not to mention a go-to target for a guy like Scott -- could be the difference between an atrocious season and a decent one.
