Just a few days into the 2012 Olympic games in London, the Arizona Wildcats already have a medal. Former UA swimmer Nick Thoman took home the silver in the 100-meter backstroke today with a time of 52.92.
The Wildcat fell to a familiar face in Matt Grevers, who broke an Olympic record in the event with a time of 52.16. Grevers, who trains in Tucson with the Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics team that is heavily represented by UA athletes, is also the fiance to former Wildcat swimmer Annie Chandler, who by the way, is blogging from London for Fox Sports Arizona.
