After yesterday's blowout loss to Arizona St., and a Washington State loss to Washington on Friday, it appears the Arizona Wildcats will be headed to the Gildan New Mexico Bowl for the second straight season.
Various opponents are projected for the Cats to face though. Since the opponent will come from the Mountain West, Fresno State losing to San Jose State had a pretty big impact on the MW's bowl picture.
Yahoo (before this weekend) projected Utah State against Arizona. The Aggies play Fresno for the MW title this weekend, so that could change. They already had NIU as their non-BCS conference team making a BCS bowl, so the Fresno loss doesn't impact their projections as much.
At ESPN, Mark Schlabach has San Jose State as Arizona's opponent, while Brad Edwards has Colorado State.
CBS and SB Nation both have the San Diego St. Aztecs as the MW rep facing Arizona.
We'll know for sure in a week from now, but seems as though the Cats will be packing their bags for another trip to New Mexico.
Our friends at CougCenter are having fun with the potential of Wazzou missing a bowl game by finishing 6-6 though.
