The Washington Huskies have now won ten straight games, and 17 of their last 18.
Those runs are now good enough for UW to be included in all the major baseball rankings.
Here's a look at where the Pac-12 sits now. Links to each poll are found at the top, and numbers in () are last week's ranking.
Baseball America | Perfect Game | USA Today | Collegiate Baseball | NCBWA | |
Oregon State Beavers | 6 (6) | 7 (7) | 6 (7) | 6 (8) | 7 (8) |
Washington Huskies | 14 (NR) | 18 (NR) | 22 (31) | 11 (19) | 24 (NR) |
Oregon Ducks | 19 (11) | 11 (8) | 10 (8) | 14 (7) | 9 (7) |
UCLA Bruins | 21 (18) | 23 (18) | 17 (15) | 26 (23) | 17 (14) |
Arizona State is now ranked 25th in the Collegiate Baseball poll after back-to-back series road wins against OSU and UCLA, but like I said last week, they are most likely ranked in that particular poll due to a single game played against Arizona. ASU is receiving votes in the NCBWA poll, and is technically T-43 in the USA Today poll.
These five teams are the class of the Pac-12, no doubt about that. But will ASU do enough to move up into the rankings and guarantee an at-large berth into the tournament?
Also, it's entertaining to me that Oregon State can get blown out by Arizona in a game, and somehow either move up or stay put near the top.
Around the rest of the country, Florida State and Virginia split the top-spot among the various polls. The ACC and SEC are tough this year. All of the sudden NC State is 3-9 in ACC play, and almost every single SEC team has been in the top-25 at some point this season. It's getting crazy down there in the southeast.
