After the Arizona Wildcats' four games in Starkville, Mississippi this past weekend, the team spent Sunday night in Memphis before flying back to Tucson.
Head coach Andy Lopez and assistant coaches Matt Siegel and Josh Garcia went out for barbecue, and Garcia blew Lopez' mind with how they got back to the hotel.
He called Uber.
"I didn't know what Uber was," Lopez said on Tuesday. "I thought it was a sandwich at Subway."
"We went to a barbecue place and my assistant coach called Uber, and I had no idea what I was doing. I was like 'What's this guy doing giving us a ride? What are we doing? Where are we going?'. I now know what it is, which is probably a good thing right? I've never had to call it, I guess that's the reality of it. But I had no clue. I've heard it mentioned, but I've been too embarrassed to say anything. I've been like 'What's this Uber? What are they talking about, a Subway sandwich? A Jimmy John's sandwich?' So yeah, I did that, and got that off the check list."
Getting coach home safe one Uber ride at a time.
