Arizona officially sign two commitments in Rondae Jefferson and Elliott Pitts.
The Arizona Wildcats and head coach Sean Miller announced they'd officially signed commitments Rondae Jefferson and Elliott Pitts after UA's victory against UTEP. Miller told the Arizona Daily Star that he was excited to sign the duo, and he discussed their importance with the impending departures of Solomon Hill and Kevin Parrom.
"So when you think about us losing Mark Lyons, Kevin Parrom and Solomon Hill, I thought Elliott Pitts and Rondae Jefferson were the answer for us and we're ecstatic to have both of them," Miller told the Daily Star. "They also are very good students, come from great families, and I think they'll really buy into what we're trying to do here at Arizona which is do something that's bigger than yourself. Be a part of a program and a team that believes in itself."
Jefferson is 17th in ESPN's overall rankings for the 2013 class. The do-it-all forward will be able to play shooting guard, small forward and potentially the power forward position a la Hill if Miller decides to go small.
Meanwhile, Pitts is a versatile scorer, much in the mold of Parrom. He was 91st in the ESPN 100 rankings and should bolster the backcourt that will lose three players to graduation next season.
Miller told Pascoe that the Wildcats would add at least one more player in the 2013 recruiting haul. Logic says that he's hoping for a commitment from Aaron Gordon, who listed Arizona on his list of three finalists that was cut from five or six on Thursday night.
The Wildcats have the ability to add another player though that would be dependent on Gordon. Keith Frazier, another wing, still has Arizona listed and so does Kameron Rooks, the son of former UA big man Sean Rooks. He is a 7-foot, 275 pound bruiser and a three-star prospect.
