The Arizona Wildcats only have three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster after Connor Brewer announced that he will transfer after this semester.
According to Brewer's roommate and longtime teammate Cayleb Jones, the former Arizona and Texas quarterback still has his options open.
"He's gonna finish out the semester and he's been talking to different schools," Jones said on Monday. "He has his options."
Brewer is going to graduate in May, and then from there he'll make his decision.
"Whoever's going to give him the opportunity to play," continued Jones. "He'll have two years to play."
According to Cayleb though, Brewer realized that maybe Rich Rodriguez' offense wasn't exactly the right fit for him, and the way to make the most out of what he has to offer as a quarterback.
"It's such a different offense from what maybe his skill set or what the coaches feel," Jones added. "When he told me (he was transferring), as a friend you have to support him, and I want him to excel and I know he's able to play somewhere and he'll do well. It's sad because I came here with him, and we've been together since we were 17, but that's the game of football. Even at the next level, friends come and go. Lockers clear out real quick."
The school that seems to be in the lead according to a couple of different people is Northern Arizona, who comes to Tucson on September 19th this season. How great would it be if NAU rolled in here with Connor Brewer at quarterback?
