Former Wildcat Nick Hundley had some strong words about the impending return of fellow Padres catcher Yasmani Grandal, who was suspended 50 games for performance-enhancing substances. "You want to talk about a guy who is unproven and had a good couple months on steroids, go ahead," Hundley told the San Diego Union-Times' Kevin Acee.
PointGuardU.com has some great pics of what the new Arizona Wildcats basketball uniforms will look like. Nike certainly seems to have gone all out on these. Most important feature of the new uniforms? No more duct tape on the shoulders!!
Nic Grigsby has been invited to play in the Eastham Energy College All-Star Game. Perhaps not the most presigious of all star games, but it will be his last chance to boost his draft stock. The game will air on Fox Sports on Sunday, January 23rd at 5:30 Arizona time, 7:30 Eastern time.
Yet another acknowledgement of Brooks Reed's great talent. Any NFL team would be lucky to have him.
With the coaching changes, some losses were expected. This is as close to a ‘good loss’ as possible. S Kerry Swarn reportedly de-committed because he ‘did not see where he would fit in among the depth that the Wildcats have.’ Yeah, that sounds suspiciously like he’s scared that he’s not good enough to start, so he won’t even try. When you hire a coach like Duane Akina, one of the best recruiters and DB coaches in the nation, and the depth you possess before he even sets foot on campus is scaring off some players, it’s a good thing. It would have been nice to have Swarn join the Wildcats, but if you’re too frightened to even try to earn a starting job, we’re better off without you.
Coach Stoops and his staff have signed a QB, a Punter, and a DL. Expect to see several stories today and tomorrow covering recruits, returning players, the outlook for next season, and the coaching staff. Also, for more info on the signed players, check out the verbal and solid committs on the left sidebar of the Arizona Desert Swarm home page.
This is the other side of the Cal vs. Arizona Q&A. Check out my answers to questions about the Arizona Wildcats from 'California Golden Blogs'. Also, I made a pretty big goof. I called the Golden Bears the Bruins. D'oh...
An excellent Q&A piece by ESPN.com's Ted Miller. It is very informative, and I recommend it to all Wildcat fans.
Ted Miller takes the stance (non-stance?) that Arizona's season is neither good nor bad, and the final verdict is dependant on the Alamo Bowl outcome.
It's nice to see such an impressive Freshman be recognized.
