Cats Baseball Off to Hot Start

The Cats baseball team complted a two game sweep of the UNLV rebels on Wednesday, beating the Rebels 16-12 at Earl E. Wilson field in Las Vegas. Bryce Ortega was 5-5 and had 5 runs and 3 RBI's.  Daniel Butler was 2-3 and had 4 RBI's.  The Cats had two homers in the game.  Ortega homered in the 5th with one on for 2 RBI's and Butler homered in the 5th for 2 RBI's as well.

Donn Roach pitched 2.1 innings and gave up only 1 earned run.  Jason Stoffel came in and pitched 1.1 innings to notch his 2nd save of the year. Arizona had four unearned runs in the game on 3 errors. I think it's time for some fungo this week before Georgia comes to town.

The win puts the Cats at 4-1 for the year. They are once again off to a solid start. DAMN those errors against Sac. State!

Next up: 3rd Ranked Georgia Bulldogs come to Tucson to begin a three game series beginning at 7:00 p.m. MST on Friday.  If you haven't gotten to a game yet this year, this weekend would be the perfect time to get out and support the Cats.
