Arizona vs. Stanford Quick React

How refreshing it is to see the WIldcats win again and in this fashion was definitely a bonus! It was an offensive explosion tonight for both teams, but Stanford's 49% shooting wasn't enough to keep with Arizona's 69%.

The Big 3 (Wise, Budinger, & Hill) scored a combined 75 points in the 101-87 victory tonight. Kyle Fogg didn't help too much to the scoring total with his 9 points, but his 8 assists and 5 rebounds were a great contribution. Nic Wise played 40 minutes tonight and managed to miss no shots from the field the entire game. He finished with 27 points and added 9 assists with 3 steals.

It's hard to find any negatives in a game where the opposing team never led and the home team scores 101 points, but I'm still disappointed that this team cannot find someone to be a solid 5th starter. Jamelle Horne got the start and played 33 minutes but only contributed 7 points and 3 rebounds. His 3 turnovers weren't much help either. Zane Johnson didn't exactly make a great case for himself either with 14 minutes, 3 points, 1 rebound, 1 turnover, and 3 fouls. As a team, the Wildcats had 13 turnovers which is much more than desirable.

The Cats played a great game tonight and it's very encouraging to know that they remember how to win. Now we'll find out if Arizona knows how to win on the road at the Pac 10 tournament, where a win is very dire. Speaking of the tournament, this win clinches the 5 seed for the Cats in tournament which means they will play the Arizona State Sun Devils on Thursday at noon.
