Quick Hits August 19, 2009

Welcome to today's quick hits of Wildcat news.  There are only seventeen days until the Cats kickoff the season against the Chippewas of Central Michigan.

The team may actually name a starting quarterback this week.  Wha-whaaa?!?  Oh, but there is a catch.  Matt Scott, Nick Foles, and Sonny Dykes will be unavailable to the media until the season begins.  That means, there may actually be less information coming out of Cats camp regarding the position battle.  I did not know that was possible.

Former Arizona basketball player, Fendi Onobun, will play football this season for the University of Houston.  Onobun is slated to play tight end.  Onobun has embraced the physical part of the game, despite getting his "bell rung" in practice

More quick hits after the jump!

The Wildcats held two-a-days Tuesday morning and evening.  Ryan Finley of the Star reports that the team is focused, trying to impress coaches before depth charts are set before the season opener.

Former Arizona Wildcat and Buffalo Bill, John Fina, will be providing color commentary for the Arizona Wildcats Sports Network this fall.  Anthony Gimino of wildaboutazcats.com has a good read on what Fina has been up to, and what to expect from Fina in the booth this fall.
