BREAKING 2011 RECRUITING: DAN BUCKNER

The Wildcats picked up a huge transfer today by getting Dan Buckner from The University of Texas.  As a transfer, Buckner will have to sit out the 2010 season and will have two eligible years at Arizona.  As an avid Longhorn fan, I had Dan Buckner on my list of top receivers to look for in 2009.  He produced well for the Longhorns pulling in 45 passes for 442 yards and 4 TD's.  Buckner is a huge receiver at 6'4" and 215 lbs.  He is not really going to threaten the long ball but is an unbelievable target over the middle and even when guarded, it's tough to keep the ball out of his hands with his enormous frame.  Great addition for the Cats.  I can't tell you how excited I am for this guy to hit the field in 2011.

What the story doesn't tell you about Buckner is that he was released from the Longhorns after an arrest on Wednesday, January 13, 2010.   Not a big deal, but the second time that Mack Brown had to discipline him in one month.  Let's hope Stoops can keep him in check.
