It's not even about a bowl game. Rather, the Arizona Wildcats heading to Seattle to face the Washington Huskies is simply about making this season not a total disaster.
Any of us can look at Arizona's record and say what they want, but the record itself doesn't indicate how good of a team the Wildcats are or can be -- were they supposed to have a winning half-decent record even if they had played up to their potential against Oklahoma State, Stanford, Oregon and USC?
I say, 'No.'
Mike Stoops was dumped because the team wasn't playing up to its potential. The Oregon State game was the true indicator of that. But now with nothing to lose, the Wildcats have a chance to play a Washington team that's pretty darn good, but also somewhat in the same expectation and talent pool as Arizona.
This one's, theoretically, winnable for the Wildcats. Let's see if they'll make this an interesting season.
