While Arizona opened its season with a win against Valpo on Monday night, Derrick Williams was on the other side of the country, taking part in Under Armour's recently debuted campaign, "Are you from HERE?"
Here's a little behind-the-scenes look at Williams' Under Armour campaign.
And if I must say myself, Under Armour is taking full advantage of the NBA lockout. Where they could be standing pat, UA is keeping their signees busy, touring Williams, fellow 2011 NBA Draft pick Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Bobcats, the Memphis Grizzlies' Greivis Vasquez, and the Milwaukee Bucks' Brandon Jennings around the I-95 Northeast corridor to promote Jennings' new shoe, the UA Micro G® Bloodline.
The tour started in Baltimore, but will head to New York City Wednesday and Friday. The UA guys will play against three prominent high schools and also hit up some Footlockers on the way. If you're in the area and want to check it out for free, the info is all on UA's Facebook page.
Under Armour looks like they're really making a push to compete with the Reeboks and Nikes of the world, which isn't an easy thing. Interesting that their crew includes two guys yet to have played in the league, too.
