Because I sort of already posted something about this, don't be fooled. Ricky Rubio will throw sick passes to Derrick Williams every single day we are blessed enough to watch the young Timberwolves in action.
We've got to keep tabs on Williams' NBA future, however. I for one am not yet sold on Williams' success in the NBA. He's still a bit of a tweener, a somewhat plodding guy who's supposed to play small forward.
Through two games, D-Will has shot a not-so-efficient 7-for-17 from the field, and lots of that has to do with him shooting more jumpers. He also has six turnovers, but has grabbed five and six boards in his first two games respectively.
Of course, two games into the season doesn't mean squat. Eventually, the T-Wolves will get tired of Michael Beasley cranking up 27 shots at the small forward position, and Derrick will get his chance to shine. Below is a video of his first dunk from an alley-oop pass via the Spanish Pistol Pete.
And in a random note of Arizona alumni in the NBA, did you see Andre Iguodala hit JUMP SHOTS of all things in the Philadelphia 76ers' first game? He went 4-for-8 from 3-point range.
Who knew you could teach an old dog new tricks?
