It's sorta, kinda weird that there seems to be more going on with 2012 Arizona hoops commit Gabe York than anyone who's already on the team. I'm sure they're all doing some unique things while working out and attending school in Tucson for the second summer session, but while they're hitting the weight sets, York has been dunking on people with authority (see the video after the jump).
He was listed as impressing ESPN recruiting analyst Paul Biancardi, and most recently was tearing up the Adidas Nations camp in California. The highlight video is after the jump, but there's a couple things I noticed while watching. York, who is said to need improvements in his point guard skills, looks like he had smooth handles and also decent vision -- he looks especially dangerous in pick-and-roll situations, where he can pull up for his patented jumper, get into the lane, or look for his screen man to roll to the basket.
As for that shot that made him a high-profile recruit, let's just say that it looks good as advertised. It's his versatility in getting it off that impressed me in the video. He both can catch-and-shoot the rock and also use a quick trigger to nail three-bombs when he is mid-dribble or simply standing there uncontested.
Also, he's listed as 6-foot-1, but he seems to dunk on people a lot.
