The Arizona Daily Star reported that former UA point guard Josiah Turner was arrested on suspicion of a DUI. The Daily Star wrote that "former Arizona Wildcats guard Josiah Turner has been arrested on suspicion of DUI by UA campus police, a UAPD official said Sunday." Without the full police report on hand, the Star could only report that it happened within the past week.
However, I can tell you it happened early Thursday morning, between 1:00 and 2:00 am. As I came out of Highland market, I noticed two cop cars about 100 yards away and as I was heading into my dorm, a friend who was also entering said she passed the officers and Turner. I also did not notice another car where the gathering was taking place, but my view was impaired by the police cars' lights.
We will learn more about the situation as time goes on, but it sure is a blessing he is on his way out and we hopefully will not have to go through this any more. This will however, hinder his attempt to transfer to another high Division-I team, as they will surely not want to deal with his off the court issues.
Bruce Pascoe has a timeline of Turner's "incidents."
