It took me a while to write this, because honestly I wasn't sure what to write. That game last night was a completely roller coaster of emotion. I was angry for 95% of the game, jumping around my apartment for 4% of the game, and completely confused for 1% of it. Not only that but I'm not sure how to even grade some of the players since they were so awesome for the last few minutes, but horrible before that. As a team I would give us a D. We only shot 43.1% from the floor, only 12 assists for the game, and 13 turnovers. The one thing we did well is out rebounding Colorado by 8. I still have no idea how we ended up winning that game, but it does show that our team is very comfortable coming from behind. However, I really hope they realize that the fans can't take to many more of those games. Now time for the player grades.
Solomon Hill: C+ I have no idea how Hill didn't foul out. He was too out of control at times and looked frustrated in drawing all those fouls. I may not agree with all the fouls called on him, but he still was given them and that's all that matters. Hill finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds, which is solid, but the 5 turnovers really hurt us.
Brandon Ashley: D- Brandon really did nothing out there. He finished with only 1 point and 3 rebounds. Not much else to say except he needs to do more.
Kaleb Tarczewski: B- Nobody was awesome this game, but Tarc worked hard down low and finished with 10 points and 4 rebounds. I need to see more rebounds out of a 7 footer.
Mark Lyons: B+ I want to give him an A especially for going 10-10 from the line, and being one of the most clutch players I have ever watched. However, we need him playing like that all game, not just the last 2 minutes. He finished with an impressive 24 points, but only 2 assists and 1 rebound.
Nick Johnson: B- Nicks shooting was off for pretty much the whole night. Nick only went 2-11 from the floor, but shot 7-8 from the line to finish with 12 points. Per usual he also finished with 3 steals, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds. Nick is by far one of my favorite players to watch, especially on the defensive end. Him and Lyons can really get after the ball handlers.
Kevin Parrom: A Can you say 6th man of the year? Kevin was huge in this game, and man did he fill up the stat line. He shot 6-9 from the floor to finish with 16 points, 3 steals, 2 assists, and 8 rebounds. Not much else to say, just that I am so happy for this kid, and I wish him nothing but the best after the things he has dealt with.
Jordin Mayes: B Jordin didn't do anything great, but he did more positive than negative tonight which is a plus.
Angelo Chol: INC
Grant Jerrett: B- Jerrett finished with 10 points, and 6 boards. Those stats are decent, but honestly I just don't really remember him affecting the game that much.
