After Wednesday night's practice, Arizona Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez said that safety Jared Tevis was "questionable" for Saturday's game against the Utah Utes.
Well, he has been downgraded to out with a knee injury.
Tevis leads the team with 36 total tackles so far in 2013, also leading the team in solo tackles with 22. Scooby Wright is second in both categories.
This is a big blow to the depth on defense, and gives the Wildcats one less body to compete against a physical Utah team.
Linebacker Derrick Rainey is listed as questionable. Rainey pulled a back muscle in pregame warmups at USC last week, and that seems to still be bothering him.
