It's been a long time since Arizona beat Arizona State at hockey.  This is what it looked like last time the Wildcats were victorious

The Wildcats head to ASU after sweeping last weekend's series against NAU up in Flagstaff.  The No. 2 Sun Devils have outscored their opponents by a combined score of 32-2 in three games so far this year.  Brian McGinty leads the team with eight points (3 goals, 5 assists).  Kale Dolinski and Zachary Holstrom aren't far behind as they each have picked up seven points this year.

Cronkite Sports' Josh Frons previews the game, and says that ASU's depth will be the biggest factor for the Wildcats to overcome this weekend.  The Daily Wildcat's Joey Putrelo talked to some of the Arizona players to find out how they feel about playing ASU and ending the losing streak.

Shane Gleason

Junior defenseman Shane Gleason was named the Wildcat Hockey Player of the Week after picking up a goal and three assists against NAU.  In addition, Gleason picked up some national recognition when he was named the ACHA's Harrow Defensive Player of the Month Award for the month of September.

ACHA Coaches' Poll

Arizona remains at No. 20 in the coaches poll this week.  ASU inched closer to taking the top spot away from Minot State, but the Beavers remain at No. 1.  WCHL foe Oklahoma moved up a couple spots to No. 3 in the country, and Central Oklahoma moved up three spots to No. 11.
