Basically, the Arizona Wildcats could be playing a bowl game in several different places. Yesterday's Oklahoma win was not good for the Pac-12, as it will probably keep Oregon from becoming a BCS at-large team.
Mostly, it hurts the Wildcats' chances of playing in the New Mexico Bowl. Now there's a lot of talk of Arizona playing in the Independence (Advocare V100) Bowl in Shreveport, LA. There's also the potential still of playing in the Heart of Dallas Bowl, and the Texas Bowl.
Here's a look at how various people project this out, and who Arizona's opponent will be.
ESPN
Mark Schlabach says Heart of Dallas Bowl vs. the North Texas Mean Green. The Heart of Dallas Bowl is Janurary 1st in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl.
Brad Edwards says Texas Bowl vs. the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Texas Bowl in on December 27th in Houston's Reliant Stadium.
Ted Miller has Arizona playing the ACC in the Independence Bowl.
CBS
Jerry Palm has Arizona playing Boston College in the Independence Bowl. It would be fun to play BC and the nation's leading rusher Andre Williams before the Heisman ceremony, but who cares when it happens New Years' Eve.? Also, RichRod and the coaching staff are not keen on playing in Louisiana. One player on the roster, Jonathan McKnight, is from the Bayou State (River Ridge).
SB Nation
Jason Kirk has the Wildcats playing the BYU Cougars in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. This is interesting because it would mean that they pass up on Washington, who is certainly less desirable after naming Marques Tuiasasopo their interim head coach after Sark left for USC. Kirk puts Washington in the New Mexico Bowl, and Wazzou in the Texas Bowl.
Yahoo
Christopher Wilson has a Texas Bowl against Minnesota.
Strangely enough, it's going to come down to what the BCS Standings look like when they're released, and who the BCS Bowls take as their at-larges and replacements for Florida State and Auburn.
