Arizona, who will enter the game 7-5, was hurt by the Oregon Ducks not being selected for the Sugar Bowl in lieu of the Oklahoma Sooners. Boston College is also 7-5 and went 4-4 in the ACC.
We compared Carey and Williams in this post, and the match up would be more fun before the Doak Walker award is announced, but it is what it is and we'll get to see them face each other very early New Year's Eve.
Andre Williams is the BC offense. His 2,102 rushing yards is nearly 300 more than the team's total passing yards this season (1,806). B.J. Denker threw for 2,241 yards this year.
Let that sink in.
Good.
Denker also finds himself just 104 yards shy of 1,000 yards rushing this year. If he gets it, he would be just the ninth quarterback in NCAA history to throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000.
Don't know if many Arizona fans will make their way to Louisiana, but it will be good for the program moving forward to get that little bit of extra practice thanks to playing on New Year's Eve compared to December 21st like the New Mexico Bowl or Vegas Bowl.
