Arizona dominated the game tonight. But the scoreboard is all that matters, and it read ASU 2, Arizona 1 at the end of the night.

The Wildcats scored the first goal of the game late in the 2nd period on a nice shot from Mike Ferreira. Arizona was in total control of the second period, and went into the second intermission up 1-0.

Just 28 seconds into the third, ASU tied the game up on a deflection off the stick of Kyle Bowen.

Arizona kept the pressure on the rest of the game, out-hustling the Sun Devils the entire night. They just could not sneak the puck past ASU goalie Joe D'Elia.

But with 2:16 left in the game, Ryan Clark scored the second ASU goal when the puck caromed off a Wildcat defenseman and found Clark in front of a wide open net.

It can't be said enough. Arizona outplayed Arizona State tonight. The Cats were just done in by a couple of bad bounces. Goalie Robert Schultz played fantastic Friday night, stopping 31 of 33 shots faced.

Coach Sean Hogan: "We competed hard, we are a good hockey team and I'm proud of these young men."
