2013 Signing Class Profile: Jacob Alsadek

Offensive tackle Jacob Alsadek is the big man of the San Diego signing class, and an addition well versed in the significance of rivalry.

POSITION: Offensive Tackle

HIGH SCHOOL: Torrey Pines

HEIGHT: 6-foot-7

WEIGHT: 325 pounds

STAR RATING: Three

The big man of Arizona's San Diego connection is Torrey Pines offensive tackle Jacob Alsadek. Alsadek is a three-star rated lineman with the size to acclimate to the college game quickly. He is immediately one of the biggest presences on the Wildcat front.

Alsadek played in a Wing-T formation at TPHS. Falcon football has so fully embraced the Delaware Wing-T system, the team wears helmets with the Blue Hens' wings (also seen on the Michigan helmet).

Alsadek said he looks forward to learning the nuances of the zone-read spread blocking schemes, after spending his high school tenure operating in a more push-based style.

At Torrey Pines, Alsadek said he learned the value of rivalry -- something sure to ingratiate this youngster to Wildcat fans.

"I can't wait to play [Arizona State]," he said.

TPHS plays in two of the San Diego area's most notable prep rivalries: against Cathedral Catholic, which is in walking distance down Del Mar Heights Road from TPHS, and against La Costa Canyon, which took from the same pool of students when it was opened over a decade ago.

"After we beat Cathedral, we chanted 'We own Del Mar,'" Alsadek said. With the right preparation, he'll get to chant 'we own Arizona' as a Wildcat.
