The Wildcats started the game hot, shooting well and playing tight defense. Ohio state seemed extremely rattled and were throwing up long shots. Everything seemed to be going our way as we built up an 11 point lead. However, Once Ohio State put Aaron Craft back into the game things began to change. We struggled to get the ball into the paint, and relied only on jump shooting. On the defensive end we had absolutely no answer for Deshaun Thomas. Thomas finished the half with 16 points and was simply unstoppable. Without him Ohio state is down double digits at halftime.
Even with Thomas scoring almost at will we still went into the halftime break with a 4 point lead. Ohio state figured out at halftime though to get to the rim. They started attacking relentlessly while we settled for 3 point shots. Ohio state got up by as much as 10 points until Solomon Hill went on his own 9 point scoring spree. However, every time we got close we either fouled and sent Ohio State to the free throw line, or we gave up an easy shot. Lyons managed to tie the game, but once again we fail to stop Ross who with 2 seconds left drills a heartbreaking 3 pointer to crush us.
I will do player grades later... Hurts to much with how it ended.
