The HR Derby is bad TV. Mark Melancon is solid entertainment

Let's face it, the only reason people watch the Home Run Derby is because there's nothing else on.

Well, former Wildcat and current Pittsburgh Pirate Mark Melancon made it fun for about ten minutes.

While fellow Pirate Pedro Alvarez was at the plate in the first round, Melancon took over the Pirates Twitter account, and using his three years of Arizona education, he promptly started naming Alvarez's home runs:

So a little Pittsburgh humor to start it off

What?

Another former Wildcat, Kurt Heyer, is probably not going to enjoy that one too much (Cardinals farmhand)

Notice we're going up in the alphabet

Clearly a shoutout to current Tucson Padre Eddy Rodriguez

Unfortunately, Alvarez only hit six home runs, but that didn't stop Melancon from making it up to the letter G

For his efforts tweeting, he took home some pretty nice swag
