Arizona Football: Wildcats spend five days at Fort Huachuca

Some stuff happened in Sierra Vista this week for UA football

After an early morning practice on Wednesday, the Wildcats headed south to Fort Huachuca for the rest of the week, including a "scrimmage" on Saturday, which ended up being just a practice because the team is "not ready to scrimmage".  A lot of stuff happened:

QB Jesse Scroggins was once again sidelined with concussion symptoms.  He missed the first two practices of fall, but had practiced for five days before missing Saturday.  Seems like this QB battle is B.J. Denker's to lose at this point.

Score is kept at every practice, and the offense has won once.  This boiled over on Saturday, as RichRod did not let any of the offensive players talk to the media after practice.  "I'm concerned with everything on offense. Everything. You want to know what I'm concerned about offensively? Everything."  You can find more quotes like that in the AZ Daily Star story.

Players of the day were announced, and Matt Dudek, Director of On-Campus Recruiting and Player Personnel let us know who they were.  No surprise that Nate Phillips and Jake Fischer are among them.

Dudek tweeted out a bunch of other hilarious stuff from camp.  Here's a few of my faves:

The team returns to Tucson Monday morning for a practice in Arizona Stadium.  Also, Saturday the 17th there will be an open house at Lowell-Stevens Football Facility and an autograph / "Meet the Team" event starting at 4:30 PM, with what will be the first scrimmage of the fall starting at 6 PM.  Parking in Cherry Garage will be free and so will admission.
