The weekly tradition of the coaching staff announcing their players of the week is upon us.  I think Scooby Wright may be the second best player on the defense behind Tra'Mayne Bondurant through two games....agree?

Here's the link to the highlights from the game, featuring Ka'Deem's TD and Fischer's INT

Hard Edge Player of the Week: Scooby Wright

For the second straight week, the true freshman earns the nod.  He led the team with seven total tackles, including one for a loss.  Kid's good.  Real good.

Offensive Player of the Week: Ka'Deem Carey

Carey went for 171 yards on 16 carries, and reached paydirt twice, including his first carry of the year, a 58 yard trot to the endzone.  It appears the offseason problems are officially behind him, and maybe we can get on with Carey starting at running back and gaining 200 yards a game.

Defensive Player of the Week: Jake Fischer

Fischer returned an interception 49 yards for the Wildcats' fifth TD of the game.  Just one tackle though.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Jake Smith

Smith set a school-record by scoring 16 points off his foot.  3-for-4 on FGs and 7-for-7 on PATs.  Add 5 touchbacks on 11 total kickoffs and you have a busy yet very productive night for a kicker.

Practice Squad Players of the Week

Offense: Cayleb Jones

Defense: Parker Zellers

Special Teams: Justin Samuels
