Arizona football: Patrick Glover and Clive Georges leave program

Two players have left Arizona this week.

The Arizona Wildcats have lost two players from the program this week as both Clive Georges and Patrick Glover decided to leave.

Georges has not played this year after suffering a significant leg injury on the first day of fall camp in August. It was unlikely Georges would have seen the field very much on offense this season anyway, as wide receiver is not exactly a position of need right now.

A little more surprising is the departure of Patrick Glover. A junior college transfer from Scottsdale Community College, Glover seemed poised to make some noise at the cornerback position heading into this season. But that has most definitely not been the case, with Jonathan McKnight and Jarvis McCall getting all of the starts so far, and true freshman Cam Denson solidifying himself as the third option.

Glover was starting to see some time on special teams in recent weeks as the coaching staff continues to try and find the right guys to put out on the field for returns. This is a screenshot of Glover not looking too enthused on the Arizona sideline.

Obviously Glover's loss is a bit more significant. The overall depth on defense is not what it is on offense, especially in a secondary that has struggled at times this year. And in a pass-happy Pac-12 Conference, you need all the bodies in the secondary that you can get. Best of luck to these guys in their future endeavors.
