Famous son Trey Griffey never really put up huge numbers for the Arizona Wildcats (1.8 catches and 28.2 yards per game in his career), but his size (6-foot-3, 209 pounds) is going to get him some attention from the NFL as offseason workouts begin in earnest. This is shown by Griffey’s invitation to the East-West Shrine Game. You will be able to watch this game on January 21st at 1 PM MT
- Paul Magloire Jr. got invited to something called the Tropical Bowl. That game happens on January 15th, and here are a few other guys that are taking part. Magloire also received a 5th round grade from The Draftster
- A couple of notable things are happening with recruiting offers. Arizona offered another kicker, and three-star linebacker Colin Schooler is set to visit Tucson in January. Check Gabe’s timeline for more on them
- It’s kind of tough to compare, but UTSA has already sold more tickets to the New Mexico Bowl than Arizona did
- The Wildcats were bad this year, but ESPN has the QB group as the 8th-best in the conference. Utah, Stanford, ASU, and OSU were worse
- You have to read some of these emails from Oregon fans as they were looking for a new head coach
- It appears Scooby Wright will be playing for the Cardinals this weekend
Basketball
- The Wildcats moved up to 19th in the polls
- A Western Michigan basketball player was arrested and charged with murder
- Luke Walton got ejected...and cursed...a lot
