Heading into the 2016 season, we knew that Anthony Fotu would not see the field for the Arizona Wildcats in the first six games as he continued to serve a year-long suspension.
Now it appears we won’t see Fotu at all, as some time this week, he was pulled from Arizona’s online roster:

One of our writers Brandon Combs was the first to notice this development.
Fotu, a junior college transfer out of Oakland, would have been a senior this year. In five games last season, he recorded four tackles, and had a very notable interception that he nearly returned for a TD.
A week after that interception, he was suspended for the rest of the season. He also happened to miss the 2015 season-opener against UTSA because of a violation of team rules.
The departure from the team was his own decision, and it’s just another blow to the front of Arizona’s defense in 2016. The defensive line appears to be the biggest weakness of this team heading into the season, and now the Wildcats can no longer count on a big, fresh body entering the rotation halfway through the year.
