Bracketology: Arizona Wildcats firmly set on 2-line

The Wildcats seed appears to be set

NCAA Basketball: Pac-12 Conference Championship Arizona vs Oregon Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

Last night’s accomplishment was huge for the Arizona Wildcats.

Not only are they the 2017 Pac-12 Tournament Champions. Not only did they get revenge on the Oregon Ducks for flat out embarrassing the Wildcats one month ago. But in addition to those things, Arizona has established themselves as the top seed from the Pac-12, headed to the West region.

Arizona clearly has a case for a 1-seed but it would appear unlikely. While beating two powerhouses like the UCLA Bruins and Oregon on back to back nights is worthy of a 1-seed, the Gonzaga Bulldogs and their one-loss record do seem to be locked in on the 1-line. Not to mention, Gonzaga has a head-to-head victory over Arizona to hang their hat on.

So, the Wildcats look to be the 2-seed in the West region, more than likely going through Salt Lake City and San Jose to get to Phoenix for the Final Four.

Here is our second-to-last bracket projection:

Last Four Byes: Michigan State, Marquette, Xavier, Syracuse

Last Four In: USC, Providence, Wake Forest, Rhode Island

First Four Out: Kansas State, Illinois State, California, TCU

Next Four Out: Houston, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana

We’ve got one more left! Immediately following the ending to the final Conference Championship game of the day, right before the Selection Sunday special begins.
