Justify, Bob Baffert win the Preakness Stakes

One win from another Triple Crown

Horse Racing: Preakness Workouts Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Bob Baffert remained undefeated when running a Preakness Stakes with a Kentucky Derby winner when Justify crossed the Pimlico finish line first on Saturday.

Baffert and Justify are now just one win away from the horse racing Triple Crown.

The race was essentially a match race between Justify and Good Magic, with Justify holding off the rest of the field at the wire.

This will be the second time in four years that University of Arizona alum Baffert will have a shot at winning the Triple Crown when he rolls into the Belmont. In 2015, American Pharoah became the first horse since 1978 to win all three crown jewel races in the sport.

Just like two weeks previous in Louisville, Justify was forced to race on a wet course after fog and rain dominated the day at Pimlico. But the soggy conditions didn’t phase this horse again, who is still undefeated after not racing as a two-year-old.

Justify will get his shot at the Triple Crown on June 9th in the Belmont Stakes.
