The reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles have reported tabbed Nick Foles, the Arizona Wildcats alum that led Philly through its playoff run, as the team’s starting quarterback in Week 1.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com had the news first:

Carson Wentz, Philadelphia’s starting quarterback through most of last season, hasn’t played since tearing his ACL and LCL in Week 14 of the 2017 campaign.

Foles’ ability to guide the Eagles to the championship in Wentz’s absence has given Philadelphia staff confidence to let Foles take the reins until Wentz is back at 100 percent.

The Eagles host the Falcons on Thursday night.
