There was no late drama for the Arizona Wildcats on Sunday in wrapping up a 4-game sweep of Southeastern Louisiana at Hi Corbett Field.
The UA (6-2) never trailed in a 14-2 victory, scoring in every inning between the second and sixth while getting another strong outing from its starting pitcher. It was a much different vibe from the first three games, with Arizona having to hold on late on Thursday and Friday and needing to rally to win Saturday.
TJ Nichols improved to 2-0 with six innings of three-hit, one-run ball. The freshman right-handed struck out six and walked two.
The Wildcats had 15 hits and drew nine walks, with Branden Boissiere going 4 for 4 with three RBI. The sophomore went 9 for 11 with two home runs and five RBI in the series, raising his average to .545.
Junior Donta’ Williams was 2 for 2 with two RBI, junior Ryan Holgate was 2 for 4 and sophomore Nik McClaughry had two RBI.
Arizona hits the road next, heading to Texas for the Frisco College Baseball Classic. The Wildcats will face Oklahoma on Thursday and Friday, Dallas Baptist on Saturday and Missouri on Sunday.
