Sundays haven’t been good for the Arizona Wildcats in Pac-12 play.
The UA allowed season highs in runs and hits in an 18-13 loss to the Oregon Ducks at Hi Corbett Field.
The Wildcats (16-7, 3-3) led 3-0 in the second on a solo home run by freshman catcher Daniel Susac, who homered twice on the day, and a 2-run single from Jacob Berry.
But Oregon (12-7, 3-3) scored 11 runs over the next two innings and never trailed after that.
Starter TJ Nichols suffered the loss, allowing 5 runs in 3.2 innings, while all six UA relievers yielded at least one run.
Susac finished 4 for 5 with two homers, two doubles and 3 RBI, while Berry and Ryan Holgate each had three hits. Holgate’s haul also included a solo homer in the fifth.
Arizona next plays Thursday in the start of a 3-game series at ASU. The teams will then face off in a single nonconference matchup April 6 at Hi Corbett.
