Fresh off a Pac-12 title-clinching series victory at Oregon State, Arizona baseball is now a unanimous top-eight team in the latest national polls.

Arizona (38-14, 21-9) is ranked No. 6 in polls from D1 Baseball and Collegiate Baseball, No. 7 in the USA Today/Coaches Poll, and No. 8 in Baseball America and Perfect Game’s rankings.

The Wildcats also boast the nation’s No. 6 RPI. UA has 12 wins against Quadrant 1 (1-50) opponents.

Arizona mounted a late game comeback Sunday to beat Oregon State 6-5 and earn a series victory in Corvallis. Oregon’s loss to Stanford Sunday clinched Arizona at least a share of the Pac-12 title.

The Wildcats can win the Pac-12 outright if Oregon drops a game in its road series at Cal this weekend.

With the Pac-12 title race mostly in the rear-view mirror, Arizona’s focus is now on securing a top eight national seed in the NCAA Tournament, which would guarantee the Wildcats get to host both regionals and Super Regionals.

Monday’s rankings suggest Arizona is in position for one of those eight spots. First, the Wildcats must take care of business this week against Dixie State.

The regular season series finale begins Thursday with first pitch at Hi Corbett set for 6:00 p.m. MST.
