With the East-West Shrine Game practices underway and the annual awards and showcase exhibition scheduled for Saturday in Tampa, SB Nation's Dan Rubenstein offers his take on a number of NFL hopefuls that SB Nation's Alfie Crow will be keeping a close eye on throughout his week-long coverage down in Florida. In this edition, Dan's talking quarterbacks -- Kansas State's Colin Klein, Arizona's Matt Scott, and Alex Carder of Western Michigan. Stay tuned throughout the weekend and weekend for more.
Scott threw for 3,620 yards and 27 touchdowns in his redshirt senior season, his best performances coming in a huge win against USC and then the improbably comeback victory against Nevada in the New Mexico Bowl.
Apparently, Scott has shown flashes of ability during practices. His one problem area, control, appeared to be fixed with a little coaching and after he calmed down. Going up against a Heisman candidate in Collin Klein might do Scott good. Then again, it's not Klein's arm that necessarily led KSU this season -- Scott very well could show that he's more of an NFL-type quarterback.
